Tron Sequel Is Actually Happening Jeff Bridges returns for Tr2n
There have already been two big surprises at Comic-Con and it's barely even begun. First was the debut of footage from the Wolverine movie and the second was a trailer for a Tron sequel, rather strangely titled Tr2n (which looks like it should be pronounced Truh-z'n).
When Disney unveiled a specially made trailer for a mystery movie, the crowds picked up on what it was as soon as those familiar light cycles, which have had a 21st century overhaul, zipped into view. The footage showed a chase between two light cycle riders, with one of them eventually driving the other to crash before looking up to a spectator, who turns out to be...Jeff Bridges! So, not only is the sequel happening, but The Dude is back! The rider whom Bridges has been watching then removes his helmet and is revealed to be....Jeff Bridges! But a younger version.
No more details or explanation of the two Jeffs were given and no director or release date announced. But it certainly got everyone talking. What would you like to see from Tr2n? And how the hell do you pronounce that? And can someone find a role for this guy?
Tron sequel? a trailer? and no director has been announced? how do u even get a trailer if no director has been announced? anyway never mind that...I watched Tron itself about 2 or 3 months ago and completely forgot just how brilliant that was for the time it was released...no doubt the sequel will look a whole lot better...but even more so for having The Dude (playing two characters) back. So this should be interesting indeed. ... Read More

Thankfully less is more in coding terms these days and the little guys, the independent Tron programs win...
All good, I hope the sequel is an intelligent and timeless comment like the original.

Whilst I am excited, with a little trepidation about the idea of Tron 2, looking at the headlines on the main page does depress me, of the 9 headlines 6 concern remakes/sequels to 26 year old films, okay perhaps not a true indication of the market as a whole, but if 2/3 of the news articles are about movie remakes, surely somethings gone wrong somewhere.
Although on the other hand I would like to see a Triffids movie, (I know it would be like 28 days later, but its got plants that kill you... Read More
