Will DiCaprio Join Inglorious Bastards?
He's set to play the bad guy

Well, after years of inactivity, it’s all kicking off on the Inglorious Bastards front.

Quentin Tarantino delivered his script to five studios last week, for their perusal and possible financial backing. Then, said script leaked all over the internet. Even Empire’s dad has read it by now.

Then came word that Tarantino had lined up no less a figure than Brad Pitt to play Lt. Aldo Raine, aka Aldo The Apache, the grizzled leader of the Bastards, a hardcore unit parachuted behind enemy lines in WWII France, with orders to kill as many Nazis as humanly possible.

In fact, Tarantino, it seems, flew to France this week just to court Pitt who, of course, is over there at present with his missus, Angelina Jolie, having just become a father yet again.

But now it seems that another A-lister is now circling a project that has, historically, been linked with the likes of Bo Svensson, Adam Sandler, and Eddie Murphy.

Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly very keen on playing the ostensible bad guy of the piece, a Nazi colonel named Landa - nicknamed The Jew Hunter - who’s so slimy, manipulative and utterly self-possessed that he could become one of QT’s finest villains. When you consider the opposition – Mr. Blonde, Elle Driver, Stuntman Mike – that’s quite a compliment.

Tarantino is apparently meeting DiCaprio on Thursday, so it’s all coming together rather quickly. With Tarantino and Harvey Weinstein, who’s producing the movie, also meeting with foreign distributors this week to secure funding for the film, it’s a good time to be talking about a cast that might feature Pitt and DiCaprio, two of the most bankable actors in the business.

Bear in mind, though, that nobody has signed on the line that is dotted just yet. But our mouths are already watering.

RE: Why all the fuss
L: roper Sounds like US wish-fulfillment fantasy stuff to me - parachute in, kill all the baddies and then head off to the beach for back-slaps and beers. I can't pass judgement on something I haven't seen yet ( I haven't even read the script) so I suppose QT deserves a break until it's up there for all to see, but this actually sounds ghastly. sp; Your kidding right?  Sounds fucking marvelous More

i think leo has grown as an actor while tarantino is going backwards, yet we still hype his films up even though the last 2 were very average, stay away leo, your better than this. More

RE: Will DiCaprio Join Inglorious Bastards?
To me it sounds like Tarantino and the Weinsteins know that having QT's name on a picture doesn't bring success, so are looking for A-List members to try and recoup its costs.  More

RE: Will DiCaprio Join Inglorious Bastards?
This sounds fantastic. I read somewhere else that Adam Sandler was linked with a character whose favoured weapon is a baseball bat... Anyway, I think Leo would be great and I bet he relishes the chance to cut loose on some typical QT dialogue. Plus surely his "Pretty Boy" looks can work as an Aryan poster boy? More

RE: Will DiCaprio Join Inglorious Bastards?
Dicaprio was one of my hopefuls for this project. The thought of him and Pitt on screen together is fantastic both from a movie fanboys perspective and surley that of any female heterosexual sp; The others that I'd love to see spouting out Tarantino dialogue is Downey Jr and Jack Nicholson whom would surley end his incredible career on a much higher note than if he were to retire after 'The Bucket List'. RE: Will DiCaprio Join Inglorious Bastards?
Great.  Just as my excitement builds for a film that may bring back the Tarantino of the 90's, that damn creampuff DiCaprio's name is linked. Fucks sake.  He's the most absurdly overpraised, incredibly mannered, actor of his generation. Hopefully this turns out to be bullshit, and Tarantino doesn't sell his soul for the almighty dollar as Scorsese has done. More

"Let me tell you what `KING KONG`is all about. It's a metaphor for a blonde chick who's fed up with all he white dicks and just wants to try a big black dick..." Cue(rumoured)Eddie Murphy"UH UH UH(trademark laugh)-get the fuck outta here!!!".... More

L: CORLEONE Will be interesting to see Leo play a bad guy. Has he done one before? PS. I though his accent in Blood Diamond was alright, bru. sp; He played a villain in The Man in the Iron Mask as evil twin King Louis XIV, however I suppose that was cancelled out as he was the good twin for most of that film. He was incredibly believable as the evil twin and he has made a career of playing characters that can cross the line between good/bad.   I would be excited to More

This is shaping up pretty nicely. Pitt vs. DiCaprio is a cool pairing. I still hope there's room for the likes of Eddie Murphy, tho. More

I was expecting Tim Roth to be the man Tarantino would cast for this role. Lets just hope that DiCaprio can master the German accent better than his Rhodesian (Blood Diamond) or Irish (Gangs of New York) one! More
