Benjamin Button Trailer In Hi-Def
Good lord, that's pretty

18 June 2008  |  Written by Olly Richards  |  Source: Apple

The trailer for David Fincher's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was online last week, but it was only a very teeny-tiny size. Paramount and Warner Bros have now released a high-definition version, and this really needs to be seen in the sharpest image you can get it. Watch it here.

The film, in which Brad Pitt plays a man who ages backwards, looks absolutely gorgeous. Even the freaky sight of Pitt as a pensioner didn't upset the pretty pictures.

RE: Oh good God!
Stupidly i totally forgot about Zodiac...I knew there must have been something i'd missed. Zodiac is quite brilliant also. More

Amazing
That looks fucking brill. Proof that there are still some excellent directors in Hollywood making proper films instead of the usual churned out bollocks we have to endure between films like this. More

RE: Oh good God!
I love Fincher, alongside Nolan he's one of the greatest directors atm. Roll on Christmas! Is it just me or is that Danny Elfman I hear!? Can't find anything online to confirm tho....... More

RE: Oh good God!
L: evildave69 I think i just weed myself a little bit. It looks stunning. After the entertaining but ultimately pointless Panic Room, it's great to see David Fincher back at his best and anything he does with Mr. Pitt is worth a look. Can't wait. sp; what about zodiac? arent you forgetting that? Please tell me you've seen it? More

One more thing...
Was that Freddie Prinze Jr. as a younger Brad Pitt? Hmmmm....not sure about that. More

Looks like Tim Burton / Big Fish - Fincher Stylee.   I'm ok with that, I really am. Looks fooking fantastic. More

I've been looking forward to this one for quite a while now and the trailer looks fucking fantastic. Beautiful and absorbing, can't wait. More

This looks gorgrous
And it doesn't surprise me at all they can make Brad Pitt look younger. The music is the Aquarium from the Carnival of Animals. You can listen to it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsD0FDLOKGA & quot;Le Carnaval des Animaux' (The Carnival of the Animals) is a musical suite of fourteen movements by the French Romantic composer Camille Saint-Saëns." Oh glorious hi-def
That was fantastic. Had seen the crap-o-vision a couple of times, including the Spanish language one, and was impressed with even those.  But hi-def is oh so pretty, get a really good look at the images. Really looking forward to this one. More

Getting to see it in HD more than confirms my feeling about this film, alongside Chritopher Nolan as one of the most exciting film makers alive, Fincher continues to impress and it look utterly gorgeous, does anyone know who's the cinematographer on this? Who cares about Oscar they overlooked Fight Club & Zodiac, if it doesn't even get a nom, just will be proof the Academy doesn't no a good film when they see one, can't wait for this. More

Hmm...
...despite make-up/digital effects having advanced in recent years, the art of aging an actor really hasn't come on much since the TV series 'Golden Years'. More

2008 is shaping up to the greatest year in film for 20 years!!!
That looks stunning! But what is the music playing? It one of those pieces of music we all know but don't know the name of! More

Yup...
That looks pretty damn good to me... another to add to the "Can't Wait" list... is it just me or is this shaping up to be a good year for films? More

RE:
Look like it could be something special, unique even, and maybe have a wallop of an emotional punch. But it does look like Tim Burton missed out on this story - feels Big Fish-ish. More

That does look visually stunning, but I have a feeling that that trailer has pretty much spoiled a good deal of the film, and it wouldn't surprise me if that final shot is taken from somewhere very near the end of the movie. A shame, if that is indeed the case. More

Looks Amazing!
I'd pay to watch a Fincher directed Tesco advert anyway but this looks like it's going to be the contemorary fairytale that AI didn't manage to be... still very disturbed by the baby and Blanchet at the end, freaky! More

Jeunet-esque freakish beauty
The item last week on the original trailer mentioned a Jeunet-esque look to proceedings but I couldn't really see it due to the terrible quality (which I imagine would have pissed off Fincher no end) of the images. I can definitely see it now -although I think it looks more 'A Very Long Engagement' than 'The City of Lost Children'- it looks stunning! And that 'little' old Brad Pitt is damn freaky! More

Best Picture winner?
To me it looks like the type of film that the Oscars are always looking out for so I guess its possible. More

Posted by Ricorodrigeuz at 14:59 on 18 June 2008 | Report This Post

Did someone say Oscar? To be honest, it's long overdue for both Pitt and Fincher but especially Fincher and seeing as this film was deemed impossible to film on several occasions (i think even Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg had a stab at it), this will go in is favour come awards season... More

the luscious visuals coupled with the music, and particularly that last shot of what I presume is baby Brad and old Cate walking together, is actually spine chilling... i'm looking forward to watching this... More

RE: AAAAGHHHHH!!!!
Anyone notice in the last shot of Pitt, it looks like he's had that 'de-aging' CG technique they used on Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in X Men 3. I read that they had lots of requests for it in other films since then, would be interesting to see it again. More

Film looks great...
I'll watch anything Fincher does but if there's one thing I take away from this trail, and excuse me for lowering the tone, it's that Cate Blanchett is the sexiest woman in film, bar none. Letching over. Get back to work! More
