Logos For Marvel's Upcoming Movies
Thor, Captain America and Avengers

13 June 2008  |  Written by Olly Richards  |  Source: MTV

Is it ridiculous to report logos as news? Maybe a little, but hopefully some of you are interested in seeing these title graphics for Marvel's upcoming movie slate.

MTV, who have apparently permanently moved in to New York's Licensing Expo and are coming up with all kinds of goodies, snapped the poster below, which shows the logos for Iron Man II, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers.

It's entirely possible that any and all of these could change in the years before release.

RE: Norton as an Avenger!?
Well i'm excited. I saw the poster a few days ago and heard about the projects a week or so ago, then started a Marvel - Avengers thread, in the future films forum, for any fans of Marvel. With any luck Norton and Downey Jr have signed contracts for a few years of Marvel tie-in's, so Hulk could be in Iron Man 2 or Wolverine in Captain Amerian (or visa-versa), there's also rumer of an Ant Man movie, so hopefully it will all tie in nicly for the Avengers movie. Norton as an Avenger!? / *****Spoilers Mentioned**********
Would Norton do the proposed Avengers film? Maybe I am being presumptive, but, with indications of a straightforward sequel to the TIH, I am guessing that Norton is contract bound at the very least to that. With the Avengers, the Hulk, was strangely a founding memeber of the group. It would stand to reason that he should be in it. I wonder if Norton would do it? He is going to be spending a lot of time being angry in the next few years, I just cant see Norton doing it More

For some reason, the look a bit 80s, 90s to me...dunno...probably a bit too basic and blah. But yh i agree, i'm glad the Iron man sequel is just good old Iron man II. No sub-titles, subheading rubbish. More

Lookin' cheesy as hell
When did these films become eighties video games? Sorry, but the superhero genre is definitely on the slide. Only a few lone soldiers (Batman, Iron Man) are still worthy of our attention. More

Avengers > the Ultimates
Come on, Ultimates is a terrible name. So bland and irrelevent to actual superheroing; they just wanted to emphasize the whole Ultimate Marvel thing. You call in the Avengers and you know your shit will be handled More

Ultimates is much better name than Avengers
I always hated the team name "Avengers" and thought the "Ultimates" is a much better title. Marvel seems to be in a rush to make Iron Man 2 ... I suspect the quality will drop (also Downey JR might get bored playing the role again in the Avengers film so soon ). More

IRON MAN II
I'm glad that the Iron Man sequel appears to have been titled a good old-fashioned IRON MAN II. You can't beat a good Roman numeral, can you? Better than all that colon and subtitle nonsense. More

how will an avengers and a captain america movie work? easy dick heads, cap comes out first, takes place during WW2 and ends with cap being frozen. Cut to Avengers opening with reports that they've found something in the ice and enter cap again Its more than easy to do. More

RE: Bring it on, but..
I think Marvel are getting way ahead of themselves and are overrating some of their lines' box-office chances.  Thor?  I can't see this making Iron Man money and Captain America always bored me shitless, but that's just my opinion.   Also, Jon Favreau has recently said he is baffled as to how Marvel can announce sequel to Iron Man in less than two years, when the original took  three years to make.   They should wait to see how The Incredible Hulk does befo More

Visual Flair
Anyone think it'd be cool if they did one of these movies to look like A Scanner Darkly? Cause, while most of the superhero flicks, at least from marvel, are pretty acceptable they have no edge or disticnt visual flair. Guess it wouldn't work with Avengers then though. More

They will change before the films are released. They're just the comic logos with a bit of shade and fade. I can't really image that the 'America' in 'Captain America' will be that big on the final. Aspecially on the international posters. It'll be one line, same size font and probably a slightly streamlined 'futuristc' font in white, kinda like the Spider-Man movie font. I can image Thor being some kind of dark iron style font like a cross between Ironman and X-Men and the Avengers w More

"The First Avenger" - GASH
What an absolutely horrible prefix. Just call it Captain America!! Also not happy about Marvel trying to rush IM2, possibly without Favreau. Very poor show by them after he pulled off the first film so well. Hopefully Downey will put his foot down over it. More

Thor and Captain America... phew, two hard concepts to sell, to be honest. Although if what I've read is right, and Captain America is set during WW2, that should go a long way towards easing the unease such a ridiculously-titled film will have on half of America and all of the world. Captain America indeed. And as for Thor, I'm really not so sure. It just doesn't seem like a concept that people will buy. And the logo is kinda crap too, whilst we're on the subject. More

AND!!!!
Why are we interested in the way the logos look? They will undoubt be chenged before press packs are issued!!! no surprise wuith the Ironman logo, Thor looks poo, would expect the logo to be carved in ancient brittle stone, Cap'n looks way 2 cheesy and the Avengers looks just like the original logo!!!
