With shooting now underway on the first of McG's new Terminator franchise, titled Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, Warner Bros has issued a press release that reveals an overview of the plot, as well as a couple of new names in the cast. The plot synopsis is as follows: "In the highly anticipated new installment of "The Terminator" film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind." All fairly vague, yes, but this is only a start of shooting announcement. The release also goes on to reveal that Charlotte Gainsbourg (The Science of Sleep) will play Kate Connor, John Connor's wife who was previously played by Claire Danes; and that Jadagrace will a play a character named Star. We have no idea who Jadagrace is and can't find any mention of an actress or singer (she sounds like a singer) with that name anywhere. That is unless she's the daughter of rugby player Wally Lewis. But that would be weird because she's only two months old and probably really not up to the action scenes just yet.

Robocop V Terminator instead...

purplexing...
I don't know what to make of it really. There is a chance to make a decent story set in the future war but whether McG will be up for it is another matter, although I liked Charlie's Angels (for all the wrong reasons). Also I don't know what all the fuzz is for Christian Bale, sure he was great as Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan's take on Batman.
