| Now we don’t necessarily see the similarity ourselves but it turns out that Superbad star Jonah Hill could well be stepping into Johnny Depp’s stylishly scuffed high-tops for a movie version of that most 80s of TV shows, 21 Jump Street.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the Judd Apatow school of comedy alumni will write the screenplay and executive produce Sony's adaptation of the young detective show. Although there are no confirmed details about whether or not Hill will be taking a starring role, the very idea alone (Superbad meets Starsky And Hutch – with McLovin’ playing some kind of Huggy Bear role) has piqued our interest. The series, which ran from 1987-1990, found Depp's Officer Tom Hanson assigned to an elite squad of young undercover cops to infiltrate high schools and fight crime, prime material we think for a top-quality piss-take.
