Are You Ready For Hot Tub Time Machine?
Is anyone...?

We’ve heard some crazy pitches in our time, but this one takes the biscuit. The whole tin of biscuits, actually. It’s a rare pitch that can be summed up in the movie’s title – Snakes On A Plane, for one. And look how that turned out.

And sadly, our hopes aren’t especially high, either, for Hot Tub Time Machine.

Yes, you read that right – Hot Tub Time Machine. It’s a movie about a hot tub… that’s also a time machine.

MGM has picked up the pitch from writer Josh Heald, about a group of former cads who, after a night of vodka’n’Red Bulls in their hot tub, travel back in time using the tub, all with the aim of rediscovering their mojo. Hilarity, we’re hoping against hope, will ensue.

"We're always looking for ways to stand out from the rest of the pack in today's crowded marketplace, and what better way than to combine hot tub debauchery and the complications of time travel," MGM exec vp production Cale Boyte told The Hollywood Reporter.

What better way, indeed? It’s a well-known and scientifically proved fact that, if Back To The Future had used a hot tub instead of a Delorean, it would have been 38% better. So frankly we can’t wait for this. Readers – thoughts?

Yet another example of Hollywood just picking random words out of a hat and then flinging a 'story' at it. Sadly, I doubt this film will fall into the 'so bad it's good' category; it'll more likely fit the 'so bad you want to burn out your own eyes' category. More

Flux that !!
I can already foresee many jokes about "getting it up to 88" (or possibly 69 in this) lets hope that they all have to sit in the tub and wait for it to get hit by lightening just like the end of BTTF :) More

Not THAT great a title
Don't think i get the "snakes on a plane" related joke to this, dosnt seem like that great a title, perhaps im just cynical, also, its a bit of a tounge twister which has also turned me off. Ah well, you boys enjoy yourself! More

RE: Hot Tub??!!
L: waltham1979 C'mon Empire whilst I can forgive American types for saying 'Hot Tub', cant we maintain a little of our British-ness and call it a Bath ?!!? was under the impression that a hot tub was a jacuzzi, not a bath. But anyway, I agree 100%, the film does sound complete and utter shit. More

But when doc brown did it...
The delorean was cold. Damn cold. That can't be good if you're in a hot tub. I know originally back to the future had a fridge down as the mode of time travel, but this is just wrong. And where would the flux-capasitor go? No, no, nothing about this adds up at all... More
