Raimi Going To Monster Zoo
He'll produce new comic book adaptation

12 March 2008  |  Written by Olly Richards  |  Source: Variety

Paramount has bought the rights to Monster Zoo, a comic book about a boy who discovers a zoo that houses creatures a lot more bizarre than your usual penguins, tapirs and goats. Sam Raimi, Josh Donen and Ellen Goldsmith Vein will produce.

We don't know a lot of the comic by Douglas TenNapel – actually we know nothing of it. But he also created Earthworm Jim, so there's a high chance that it's good. Now we have a hankering to play the Earthworm Jim computer game, particularly the bit where you got to toss a cow in the air.

Your Comments

Ah great news, I'm a big fan of Doug TenNapel's work, I would dearly love to see his comics Creature Tech and Iron West get the film adaptation treatment. Empire, and curious types, should check out both of those books, the fantastic video game Neverhood (claymation point and click!) and the online short Sockbaby, highly recommended. I actually haven't heard of Monster Zoo but the combination of Raimi and TenNapel sounds perfect! More
