New Wanted Trailer Hits The Webs
Myspace has got its eager little hands on a cracking new trailer for Wanted, which you can watch here. Universal has also supplied us with some new hi-res images, which you can see below and click to see larger. Wanted, directed by Timur Bekmambetov, stars James McAvoy as a man inducted into a guild of assassins by Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.

The message of this movie would seem to that killing people without remorse makes you really, really sexy. Given how cool everything in this trailer looks and how attractive everyone is, we're prepared to get behind that message*.

This new trailer also makes it very clear that this will be almost nothing like the comic book that inspired it. Given that, to the particular writer's mind, the comic book had interesting ideas but was often irritatingly juvenile, that's probably no bad thing. If this takes the core of that story and adds its own screwy physics, glossy visuals and lots of pretty people in the semi-nude, then we could be in for quite a time when this hits cinemas.

*We're not really. Please don't actually think about going out and killing people, you whackjob. Murderers are never sexy. Even Bonnie and Clyde weren't all that, despite what legend says. They just had some snappy clothes and knew how to pose against a car.

Wanted is Not the Matrix Films
I am so looking forward to "Wanted". The trailer was wicked! I loved the physics defying bullet-bending sequence. I read the "Wanted" graphic novel and found it to be rather juvenile and vulgar. The movie will be less "comic-booky" and based more in real life. I love Morgan Freeman and think he will be a badarse in this one. I am not a big Angelina Jolie fan at all. James McAvoy is one of the most talented young actors on both sides of the Atlantic. It doesn't h... Read More

bah!
Fancy trailer but the film appears to completely ignore the best concepts of it's original source material (mainly the wonderful subversion of the superhero/comic universe). Why did they even bother buying the rights? ... Read More

RE: what now?!
I'd agree with those that say Jolie is too damn thin. But my GOD when she walks out and you see all the tatoos on her back she is HOT as fuck. She really does just ooze sex. But I'll say it again. Curve the bullet? Seriously, just fuck off. ... Read More

It does make you wonder why they bother to adapt stories if they're going to just re-mould them into a certificate 15-Matrix-style-action-movie? ... Read More

RE: Drivel
L: Inspector 71 Apart from the pay cheque, why oh why does James McAvoy want to cross into Jason Statham territory ??. His CV was looking pretty solid till he signed up for this pile of shite. Leave it to Jase !! sp; Boo to you, this looks cool as funk in a freezer. Jolie looks very lickable, even in that sweaty pic! Physics be damned and may the Hollywood wallet keepers throw even more cash at visionary directors like Bekmambetov and Zack Snyder so they can make more stuff for us fuck... Read More

L: jameswhaleofatime The Matrix Recycled aha you could be right.... but i hope not, i reckon that timur's talent contains enough originality to ensure that this doesnt end up being a re-hash of old stuff. it certainly looks cool, so ive got some hope for this one. although im really not a fan of jolie (dont even think shes that hot) so i'd prefer to see someone else in her role. ... Read More
