Jason Isaacs Heads For The Green Zone
He's joining the Paul Greengrass drama

04 March 2008  |  Written by Olly Richards  |  Source: Variety

The words "Jason Isaacs has joined the cast of..." guarantee Empire-shaped bums on seats, for not only is he a splendid actor, he is also the nicest man in the known universe and probably beyond. So, as if we needed any further persuading, we will definitely be first in line for Green Zone.

Isaacs has signed on to play an American military officer in Paul Greengrass' latest. Based on the book 'Imperial Life In The Emerald City: Inside Baghdad's Green Zone' by Ranjiv Chandresakaran, the film is a fictionalised drama set in Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein.

The cast also features Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear and Amy Ryan and shooting is currently underway in Spain.

Nighy is nice but Isaacs is tasty
Lovely chaps the both of them, but I'd definitely rather wrap myself around the lush Jason than Bill. The bake off idea sounds good, I always get a little peckish after doing the deed. More

RE: Nicer than Bill Nighy?
L: Olly Richards L: Flanboy I think not!! t would be a very close fight between the two for who's nicer. Not that either would actually fight. They'd just have a sit down and a nice cup of tea and be self-deprecating and charming. Both are gods. sp; Haha! Yes maybe they could have a "niceness" bake-off or something. I've met them both and have to say that Bill was just a smidge nicer but Jason was exhausted after being on stage so we'll let him off More

Expect the camera to be shaky.....
....well Iraq is a war zone isn't it. Great cast and a great director, with I'm sure some great staff behind the camera(cinematographer, editor et al). This will be fantastic. And for those who listen to Friday's film reviews show on the Daily Mayo on Radio 5 Live - Hello Jason Issacs (leave pause for reply) More

I'm about halfway through Imperial Life, and I don't see how they can do a straight adaptation of it. I guess they will create an original story using the events of the book as a backdrop. Anyone know who Matt Damons playing? More
