First Look At Star Wars: Clone Wars Coming to cinema and TV Source: starwars.com
Lucasfilm today announced that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will debut in cinemas (at least American cinemas – it's not clear whether a UK release is definite) on August 15, before broadcasting as a TV show in the autumn. This will be the first Star Wars film to be released by Warner Bros, not 20th Century Fox. More excitingly, the Star Wars official site has a first look at Clone Wars.
As the video says, this is an event that fans have been waiting to see since it was mentioned in the very first Star Wars film. We've had glimpses at the battle in the Star Wars prequels, but this will be fully explore the battle involving the Jedi and the clones against the separatists, and expand the mythology. Following the movie, the TV series will consist of an unspecified number of 30-minute episodes.
Lucasfilm has gone with a very stylised look for Clone Wars and we have to say we like it. It seems to work particularly well on Obi Wan, with all his angular facial topiary. We also like the look of new padawan Ahsoka, who looks like Shaak-Ti, but less warmly attired.
I love animation and I love Star Wars. It looks great.
I also think that this style will suit a longer format more than the fantastic but slightly manic style of the Tartatovsky Clone Wars. I think they'll comple ment each other well really. I'm sad to see so many predictable anti-CGI/ animation comments in reaction to this news so far. ... Read More
This looks really good - can't wait.
Although those cynical of its quality after the prequel disappointment think of it this way - if you think its gonna suck, if it turns out to be good it'll be all the sweeter and more suprising.
I think when people are excited about something its seems worse because you've had all the anitcipation. If you don't really care or you think its gonna suck, if it turns out good its suprising and usually means its better. ... Read More

I agree that it would have been better for the focus to be moved to a more interesting time in the Star Wars Galaxy, after ROTJ, before Phantom Menace.
This timeline of 40 years is done, let it rest.
If this series was actually planned for years, why bother letting Tartakovski (sp?) do that Clone Wars mini-series in the first place? Like I said, it seems that Lucas has realised that the public may have preferred someone elses telling of the Star Wars universe to hi... Read More
fused. Is it the first episode of the TV show that will debut in cinemas or is it a movie length version? Either way it will be sad to see Star Wars on the big screen without the fanous Fox Fanfare at the beginning. ... Read More

It seems as if George felt Genndy stole his thunder, seeing as a lot of people actually enjoyed the Clone Wars cartoons more than the films themselves, and is now trying to out do the Samurai Jack genius. ling. ote]
Er, sorry, how has he 'failed'? Have you seen the film and the show yet? For what it's worth, I think this looks good.

Yes it looks good. But what i want to know is were in the timeline this will fit? Will it be set in between the 2 volumes of the 2d Clone Wars cartoons as Anakins hair isnt really long like in volume 2 but it isn't really short like n volume 1 and also Asajj Ventress is in it and she is killed in volume 2 so it must be set before that. Anyone any ideas? ... Read More
The Cartoon Network 2D clone wars cartoons were great. Why have they been forgotten so quickly by Mr Lucas. This new version just looks like a fancier version of that. Let's hope it doesn't do anything to contradict the previous Clone Wars cartoon. The star wars website seems to have removed all traces of the old cartoon as if they are ashamed of it or something. ... Read More

Quick people, George Lucas is in urgent need of more money!
awn! here's one thing that was 100% predicatble to come along in this thread, it's this soundbite above.
You know what the answer to that is then? DON'T GO AND WATCH IT! Just leave it to people who want to watch it.
