I love animation and I love Star Wars. It looks great.
I also think that this style will suit a longer format more than the fantastic but slightly manic style of the Tartatovsky Clone Wars. I think they'll comple ment each other well really. I'm sad to see so many predictable anti-CGI/ animation comments in reaction to this news so far. More

This looks really good - can't wait.
Although those cynical of its quality after the prequel disappointment think of it this way - if you think its gonna suck, if it turns out to be good it'll be all the sweeter and more suprising.
I think when people are excited about something its seems worse because you've had all the anitcipation. If you don't really care or you think its gonna suck, if it turns out good its suprising and usually means its better. More

I agree that it would have been better for the focus to be moved to a more interesting time in the Star Wars Galaxy, after ROTJ, before Phantom Menace.
This timeline of 40 years is done, let it rest.
If this series was actually planned for years, why bother letting Tartakovski (sp?) do that Clone Wars mini-series in the first place? Like I said, it seems that Lucas has realised that the public may have preferred someone elses telling of the Star Wars universe to hi More

Yes it looks good. But what i want to know is were in the timeline this will fit? Will it be set in between the 2 volumes of the 2d Clone Wars cartoons as Anakins hair isnt really long like in volume 2 but it isn't really short like n volume 1 and also Asajj Ventress is in it and she is killed in volume 2 so it must be set before that. The Cartoon Network 2D clone wars cartoons were great. Why have they been forgotten so quickly by Mr Lucas. This new version just looks like a fancier version of that. Let's hope it doesn't do anything to contradict the previous Clone Wars cartoon. The star wars website seems to have removed all traces of the old cartoon as if they are ashamed of it or something. Strictly speaking this is a TV series that is getting a cinema launch to promote the run of TV. Looks fantastic, using the Clone Wars cartoon as a basis, and the cinematography of the films to give it that Star Wars feel. I enjoyed the serialised story of the prequels that showed the start and the end of the wars, and I read the novels and watched the cartoon for all the extra stuff and the majority of it was excellent (Read Shatterpoint and the Medstar Duaology!), so this will be a blast for th More

Is it just me or does that trailer merely look like AOTC or ROTS?
All the space shots, (and even the shots of the Clone Troopers) just look like they did on the big screen in 2002 / 2005.
The main characters are clearly just CG versions of the Genndy Tartakovsky originals. This does seem a bit of a waste of time. I know the running time of Tartakovsky's version was little over an hour, and this is gonna be a full length movie followed by a 30 minute WEEKLY show, but still, Why George, Why?

I'd love to see this on the big screen with a proper Digital Presentation, digital projecter and full on digital surround sound. ROTS was superb at Odeon Leicester Squares digital showing. It was liek watching DVD quality on an enormous screen. However, it looks like Pixar have really raised the bar with computer animation with the upcoming Wall-E. Hope they don't ignore the cartoon Clone Wars as the story arc with Asajj Ventress is crucial to the development of Anakin Skywalkers character. It was she who gave him his scars, and his various tussles with her made him call on the power his anger unleashed to best her on numerous occasions. Yes I am a bit geeky knowing this, but as it has already been put into Star Wars folklore, it can't be changed now, can it George? More
