Scorsese's Shutter Island Renamed
It'll now be known as...
Source: The Boston Herald

Scorsese's Shutter Island Renamed
Ashecliffe. That's the new name for Martin Scorsese's next, according to The Boston Herald. The film which was formerly known as Shutter Island is based on Dennis Lehane's novel about a US Marshall (Leonardo DiCaprio) investigating the escape of a murderess who is presumed to be hiding on Shutter Island. Ashecliffe is the name of the mental facility.

We're fine with the new title, but we liked the sound of Shutter Island. It sounds a bit more mysterious and spooky. Ashecliffe's got a touch of bodices and stately homes about it. But, hell, call it what you want. It's DiCaprio and Scorsese, so we'll be first in the queue to see it.

RE:
Found the first half of book a bit hard going, took me ages to get into it. not sure how it'll work as a film. The first half reads as a middle of the road plot hole ridden murder mystery. Only comes alive in the last quater of the book (everything after he climbs the cliff). It's a lot to wade through for a payoff thats not all that orignal any more. ... Read More

The book is entertaining enough but I reckon the story might be a bit too far-fetched to translate realistically onto the screen. Don't know what to think about this one. ... Read More
