Andy Serkis To Star In Tintin First cast for Spielberg/Jackson trilogy
Science has proven, using lots of Greek letters and a graph that employs the seldom seen Z-axis, that if Peter Jackson makes an action-adventure movie without the marvellous Andy Serkis, dogs will lie down with cats and bring about the end of civilization as we know it. So, thank the lord that the sometime Gollum/Kong has become the first cast member of the upcoming Tintin trilogy.
There has been no announcement on which part (or, indeed, parts) Serkis might play in the motion-captured movies, but we'd hope that he'll get to play a human this time, even if it is a computer representation of one. That said, we're sure he'd make a marvellous Snowy.
Steven Spielberg and Jackson will each direct at least one installment of the trilogy based on Herge's crime-solving junior reporter and his little white dog, with either another director making the third or the pair possibly directing together.
The all CG 3D first movie is set to start filming in September 2008.

I think Edgar Wright should direct the third installment, although I'd be enticed by the prospect of Jacko and The Berg tackling it together.
But when's Spielberg gonna make Lincoln?! ... Read More
