More Actors Join 17
Last week, former Friend Matthew Perry signed on to star in Burr Steers’ body-swap comedy 17, as a middle-aged man who is transformed into a teenager (to be played by current flavour of the month, High School Musical’s Zac Efron).

And now, two more small-screen actors have been hired to make the leap to the big screen. Michelle Trachtenberg – who played Dawn, the sister of Buffy The Vampire Slayer – will play the daughter of the Perry/Efron character, who doesn’t realise that the young boy she’s crushing on at school is her own father (shades of Back To The Future there), who has enrolled specifically to keep an eye on his children.

Melora Hardin – so good as Jan Levinson, Steve Carell’s boss in the US version of The Office – has also joined the cast as the principal of the school. Leslie Mann, who was cast a while ago, will play Perry/Efron’s wife.

Filming starts later this month.
