Star Trek Gets Its Sarek
Ben Cross named as Spock's dad

Star Trek Gets Its Sarek
Just when you thought the Star Trek casting director may be about to enjoy a well-earned day off, news reaches us about yet another addition to JJ Abrams’ Enterprise re-boot.

This time it’s all about Spock’s dad with the revelation that uber-thesp Brit Ben Cross is all set to don pointy ears as Sarek, the man who woos Amanda Grayson (played by Winona Ryder) and, thanks to a lack of Vulcanised rubber, fathers the future Science Officer to be played by Heroes’ Zachary Quinto.

Taking over the reigns from previous actor Mark Lenard, Cross is perhaps best known as runner Harold Abrahams in the Oscar-winning Chariots Of Fire. He probably best forgotten as Prince Malagant in the abysmal First Knight.

Star Trek is currently in production and scheduled for late 2008. Watch this space for any further developments.

first knight abysmal
i agree its not a 5 star movie but its hardly abysmal. i watched it recently and i found it very entertaining, i thought for a pg movie the battle scenes were bloody and intense, i thought richard gere conveyed well the anger and isolation of his character, i thought connery was equally as good, and the score made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. i also thought ben cross as malagant was a nasty litle villain and he played his part well. too often films are criticised when in actual... Read More
