New I Am Legend Poster One man and his dog...and half a bridge
How secretive has I Am Legend been? Really, considering it's based on a book that was published 53 years ago, Warners are playing their vampire zombies things very close to their chest. But, we kind of like it. So far all we've seen is a minimal teaser trailer and a (slightly drab) teaser poster. Today we get another poster (below) and while, again, it doesn't give a lot away, we really like it.
The mood of this piece just seems so perfect. Nobody's tried too hard to make the barren New York – in which Smith finds himself the only normal human in a country that's succumbed to a vampiric virus – too self-consciously spooky, just letting the oddness of a bustling metropolis stripped of its bustle speak for itself.
This makes us hopeful that Francis Lawrence can produce something that comes close to the unhurried terror of Richard Matheson's book and not a film that takes the bare bones and slaps a Hollywood action movie skin on top.
Not sure which book you are reading coomi01 but its not that black and white. And the trailer and the poster seem to be appropriately understated. This isn't and should not be turned into an all guns blazing zombie horror. It is much more about issues of normality and how we feel we would cope in such a devastating situation as well as the need for companionship and ultimately the need for your own role to make sense. ...
