Trailer for 27 Dresses Is Up
Katherine Heigl's always a bridesmaid...

04 October 2007  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: Yahoo!

Even by rom-com standards, this is one of the most give-away-the-whole-film-in-the-trailer plots we've ever seen. Katherine Heigl's following up her rather fab turn in Knocked Up with the - on this evidence - thoroughly traditional rom-com stylings of 27 Dresses, the story of a perennial bridesmaid who's, you guessed it, never the bride.

Ed Burns is the no-good object of her unrequited affection who falls for her sister, and James Marsden is the handsome stranger who picks her up when she's concussed and teaches her about the importance of not always being a doormat. Hmmmm, wonder which one she'll end up with?

The trailer's here so watch and enjoy and you can probably skip the finished film. But it could still be worth watching to see Heigl's continuing ascent to comedy superstardom, Judy Greer still playing the best friend, and Marsden's steady improvement from X-Men enforced seriousness to comedy cameo gold (see also: Enchanted, Hairspray).

Your Comments

Looks half-decent
Pretty conventional, but it doesn't look offensive, and it's got a good cast - been waiting for Marsden to get a decent break-out role for a while, so hopefully this is it. More
