The Other Boleyn Girl Poster It's educational. And sexy!
You remember history lessons at school, particularly the ones relating to the Tudor era? They were boring, right? All about that fat ginger man who kept chopping heads off women like some hirsute version of the queen of hearts. What they were not was sexy and pouty and excessively bosomy.
The Other Boleyn Girl, judging by the poster that's you can see below, is looking to correct that. And by 'correct' we mean 'lift and separate'.
The film reveals the little known story that there were two Boleyn sisters competing for the love of Henry VIII (Eric Bana). Natalie Portman is Anne, the elder sister who won his hand and lost her head, and Scarlett Johansson is Mary, the younger, poutier sister. The genes in those siblings really don't match up, but we're going to allow it.
Wow! Has history gotten sexy..Okay this mightn't be exactly a leaving cert guide but neither was Marie Antoinette and I liked that...The poster is sedutive and powering...I mean could they have gotten any sexier leads for the Boleyn girls...Wasn't Henry VII fat. Well the tudours (tv show) depict him as Johnathan Rhys Meyers. Hmmm. Anyways looking forward to this...Roll on febuary 2008 ... Read More

Incidentally, Henry VIII wrote to Anne about his preference for her "little duckies". He also seems to have disliked Anne of Cleeves partly for being a little larger up top. Hopefully not "excessively bosomy" then.
wish they'd taught us that at school, it might've brightend up our history lessons a bit

Mary Boleyn was the elder Boleyn sister, and Henry's mistress before Anne (and after Elizabeth Blount).

I've never found historical dramas convincing when they cast people that don't look remotely like their characters. What's wrong with casting normal /average looking people that look like you might have a chance with 'em ?? Going to be crap, but I'll wait for the trailer nonetheless. ... Read More
I confess I hadn't even heard about this movie until a few days ago, don't ban me Empire please, I'll make it up to you. Anyway, I would never in a million years have thought of Eric Bana for Henry, even though he's one of my favourite actors, so I'm going to have to see this film to see how he does in the part, if nothing else.
Well ok there's Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson too, but I was trying not to seem shallow. Hmm, perhaps I should've considered leaving this last part out... Read More
Natalie Portman looks amazing on this poster, she is really beautiful and the tudor look oddly seems to suit her, she looks perfect for the part. I normally find Scarlett even more stunning but here it seems as if her lips have become ridiculously over thick, still she certainly provides on the "excessively bosomy" quality as Empire describes it.
As well as being very beautiful, Scarlett and Natalie are two of the most talented young actors around, however I am a little dubious ... Read More
The Poster look good. I like the green. But is it just me, or is Natalie Portman wearing what seems to be a replica of Ugly Bettys necklace???? Very weird.

well, obviously the pairing of Scarlett and Natalie, two of the most beautiful and intelligent young actresses is set to entice a few men, but I have to say, I'm really looking forward to see what Eric Bana does with the role of Henry VIII, its certainly an, ahem, meaty part, and it would good to see his take on it, rather than just, ham it up ...
