| 28 August 2007 | Robert Downey Jr Duets On The Soloist Joining Jamie Foxx in biopic |
|
Several days ago we let you know that Jamie Foxx had signed for Joe Wright's The Soloist, the story of a Julliard trained violinist who develops schizophrenia and becomes a homeless busker. At the time the film was still seeking an actor to play the LA Times journalist who wrote of Nathaniel Ayer's story and brought it to the masses. That actor has now been found in the Iron Man-like shape of Robert Downey Jr.
Downey Jr plays Steve Lopez, a man who should be very flattered by the casting, since his picture byline on the LA Times website shows he's more generic middle-age man than dashing superhero type.
With these heavyweight leads, The Soloist has become one of the big dramas to watch for next year. | | Olly Richards |
