He-Man Coming To The Big Screen
But this time no Dolph Lundgren. Sorry

He-Man Coming To The Big Screen
Now, we're not entirely convinced by this apparent trend for putting 80s toys in movies. Sure, we're completely on board with Transformers, because its giant robots covered in guns and bits of plane. But He-Man? Really? Well, Joel Silver and Warner Bros will be trying to rid the world of the image of Frank Langella as Skeletor looking like Cher if she'd aged naturally in the awful '80s movie (watch a bit here, you'll be glad you did), as he's bringing the strangely named hero back to cinemas.

This new He-Man is set to employ the same effects method as 300, i.e. green screen sets, stylised colouring, abs a-go-go, as it presents the battle between the magical land of Eternia (dear god, this series had some uninspired names) and the evil Skeletor. Well, that's certainly a good thing, but they should definitely do something about the page boy haircut and furry Y-fronts. They don't really say 'fearless saviour of the world', so much as 'stripper winter collection 1593'.

RE: A bit concerned!
Flumpman, I think you should take your medication before you post.  Masters of the Universe was extremely poor.  Most Powerful Man In The Universe?  I think not...name one powerful thing He-Man did in that shite movie (apart from taking ten minutes to push over a pillar). ... Read More

A bit concerned!
Well I am slightly concerned about He-Man being made into a movie. Would you like to know why? Well I'm gonna tell you anyway. I am not concerned about the 300 stylised look, I am also not concerned about who they will cast or what the story will involve or whether Orko will be in it or not! No, I am concerned that they will never beat the original movie!!!!! Yes, you heard me right - even though Empire say that the original He-Man movie (aka Masters of the Universe) is terrible I have to disagr... Read More

How about lil' sis?
Hello to all the Joss Whedons or similar good girl-character writers! HOW ABOUT A NICE SHE-RA MOVIE!!!!!!!!!! It's abou time that she gets her 15 minutes of fame! While I liked He-man, even with all the silly names ( ok, they are even sillier in She-ra), "clothes" etc., I was amazed by his little sis. She was much cooler, used to be a baddie( due to brainwashing) und did not have a stupid prince ivanhoe hairdo!!!! Make way for the mother of Xena!!!!! ... Read More

when are people gonna get over The Rock? he's big, yes. but he can't play He Man for the same reason he can't be Conan. He has no definition. look at a picture of the rock, and a pic of Arnie or Lundgren at the same age and you'll get what I mean. The Rock's cool, andhe's big, sure... but as I say... scaresly any definition to it. heck, Stallone had better definition in Balboa than I've ever seen on The Rock. Dwayne.. .tone up... it'll do you well. ... Read More

RE: He-Man
L: Timon They should probably also ditch Cringer (the talking green tiger) and He-Man's best friend the amusingly named Man At Arms. ou're talking amusing names, they have to include FISTO. He had a big fist (hence the name) And Ram Man is just too much innuendo for one family film to take.... quote]ORIGINAL: Helen OHara L: mirzatahirahmad3 Sometimes the arrogance of Empire really pisses me off, these reviewers are so up their own arses sometimes it's unbelievable. h, they... Read More
