It's A Dog's Life For Gere
Remaking Japanese drama...

It's A Dog's Life For Gere
Richard Gere’s opinion of dogs has been a topic of heated debate for eons, but now with the announcement that the actor is to begin  shooting Hachiko: A Dog's Story in September, the matter may have finally been put to rest. Gere will play a college professor who stumbles upon an abandoned woof and forms an irrevocable bond with the animal that changes his life forever.

The story will be based on the 1987 Japanese movie, Hachiko Monogatari, which in turn is based on the real life tale of Hachikô – a dog that displayed unfaltering loyalty to his master by continuing the same daily routine long after his owner had died. Gere will also produce the new version alongside Bill Johnson and Vicky Shigekuni Wong. Expect rumours surrounding the casting of the furry lead role to begin imminently.
