Ed Zwick, as director of the likes of The Last Samurai and Blood Diamond, has an unassailable talent for making the bloody and amoral look staggeringly beautiful. He also spins a darn good yarn. So we're very keen to see what he does with the second world war in his next movie Defiance, on which he'll also fulfill writing, producing and occasional tea-making duties. Described as epic (natch) the film is the true story of four brothers in Nazi occupied Poland who flee to the Belarussian forest with a band of Jews and join forces with Russian Resistance fighters. Frankly, he had us at Belarussian. Zwick's also secured himself a humdinger of a leading man in Daniel Craig. As far as we're concerned Craig can do no wrong these days. You craigisnotbond (ohyesheis) haters may fill the space below with statements to the contrary, but we will not see them and we will not respond.
