Final Harry Potter Cover Revealed This is what Deathly Hallows look like
Is this movie news? We don't know. It doesn't smell like movie news and it doesn't taste like movie news, but it has the same name as movie news. So, we're confused. But below are the two book covers for the final installment in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The one with the medallion is the 'grown up' version for those people who still have some shame about reading Potter books and think this artsy cover will make people think they're reading Proust. The other, for the proud Potter fans, gives us a very clear clue of what we can expect of the final chapter.
When last we saw Harry he was (widely reported spoilers known by everybody ahead!) set to leave the school after the death of Dumbledore and hunt down Voldermort. And now from this picture we can see that Harry, Ron and Hermione become vigilantes who steal medieval looking treasure, get sunburn and, judging from the colours, have some kind of acid flashback. So that's gonna be awesome.
This is the American cover, which shows that in this final book Harry becomes a Jedi! Which is awesomer.

I hope the quality of the cover, which smacks to me of a 'well, it'll sell by the trillions so it doesn't matter if it's crap' kind of attitude was not shared by Ms. Rowling when she wrote it. To whit: Hermione looks likeone of those blow-up doll things. Eh?
This is a book which I'll read because I want to see how the story concludes, not because I think it'll be great - the Potter series reached its peak with 'Azkaban', and has got steadily more tedious since then. The 'School-year' for... Read More
With regards to the usa cover, I think the artist has done a great job of making Harry look a little like Rowlings original Potter and a little like Daniel Radcliffe. Nice cynical ($$$) work there.
Obviously from a familiarity (commercial) point of view it makes perfect sense to make the boy look like Radcliffe, but is it another sign that Rowling has swiftly conformed to Hollywood expectation, at the detriment of her original vision? After all, dollars amount to pounds.

The British cover is awful. Looks more like the front of one of those 'hilarious' Barry Trotter pisstake books. Doesn't exactly capture epic brooding mystery that I thought Rowling was after. The American one is much more classy. ... Read More
On the back cover of the US version... are Voldemort and Harry fighting TOGETHER??? They're certainly looking in the same direction and their hands are similarly splayed, as if to ward off a greater threat with their magical powers of magic. Has Ol' JK been stringing us along all this time? Is Voldemort not really the Big Bad? Who could it be? Dobby with a machine gun? Answers please, dear readers, answers! ... Read More
