New Transformers Posters! Get close up with Prime and Megatron Source: Aint It Cool News
It may still be four months until Michael Bay’s Transformers crash onto screens, but the good folks over at Aintitcool have just kicked another two pieces of Cybertronian cool onto the web in the form of these new posters:
The Optimus Prime one-sheet should get Trans-fans whooping in delight as all the original Generation One elements seem in place, along with an extra bit of wear and tear on the head (never a bad thing). Megatron on the other hand, may cause a little less delight in diehard fans. If yesterday’s news that Hugo Weaving (not Frank Welker) will be voicing the Decepticon leader got your energon cubes in a twist, this new close-up may well send you over the edge. Gone is the beloved chrome-dome look of the G1 character. Megatron 2007 seems to be based on the robot in Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker.
Still, it’s worth remembering that come the summer, these metallic behemoths will be smashing each other across the planet and saying things like “I've got better things to do tonight than die” and “Their defences are down, let the slaughter begin!”, which is just great.

In light of other peoples comments on the look of the posters, and in particular Megatron i understand that it may be picky but, being a massive fan of both the decepticon leader and transformers in general it does bother me (even though it could very well be star scream). Further more, from the trailer all i have seen is theTransformers presented, regadless of their allegance as a threat to humanity as wellas the perspective of the film being centred around the human characters. This worries me... Read More
Having been an origional fan as a wee lad (I had origional toys and the UK comic from issue 2-onwards), and a movie lover I am very much looking forward to the film but am sick to death of people seemingly picking faults before it's even arrived. Michael Bay makes good action movies....fact. Ok so the plot is rarely overly complicated and the dialogue tends to be 'clunky', but visually thay are spectacular. Crisp colours, great atmosphere,....real popcorn stuff, (and I love the arty, oscar movie... Read More

Agreed. Transformers has had so many incarnations. Optimus Prime is always the same but Megatron: he's the Madonna of Transformers given how much he keeps getting redesigned.
Awesome posters mind. Is anyone wondering it could be Starscream rather than Megatron, considering he doesn't have teeth here? ... Read More
