| RE: No dark Tower? |
According to Dark Horizons Capt Pike is a fairly prominent character so it looks like it will feature the Enterprise, which is essential. Daniel Craig was linked with that role - but I will believe that when I see it.
To be honest it will be interesting to see a big budget approach to the franchise rather than the double TV episode approach to recent films.
Then again the last time they went with a massive budget and blockbuster mentality we got The Motion Picture. So who knows? ... Read More

This film is just full of continuity issues. But hey, that didn't stop ise
My biggest concern for this film is where it will take the Star Trek franchise post Star Trek XI. Do they go further back in time? Kirk in High School! If they take it into the future they'll potentially clash with the OS and Films of Shatner and Co. Perhaps they'll come back with another TNG film? They're digging themselves a bit of a whole me thinks. ... Read More

Ah but Spock had already served 10 years on the Enterprise under Captain Pike so it stands to reason that, Kirk and Spock being roughly around the same age, being in their early thirties at the very least.
sn't it supposed to be about their Academy days? ... Read More

What about Nathan Fillion as Kirk?
sn't it supposed to be about the early days of Kirk and Spock? Fillion is way too old and too associated with another, much better Sci-Fi series. ... Read More

Not sold on Abrams to be honest. Lost is a mess and Alias is rubbish aimed at pre pubescent boys. The third Mission Impossible film was pretty enjoyable but it didn't exactly offer anything new.
Having said that it is good to see that Paramount are going with a big name to reinvigorate the property rather than let one of the cast or a hack get the chair again.
The thing about playing Kirk and Spock is that the characters are so well loved that it will take a pretty good script and cast to m... Read More
