Die Hard 4 Has A New Title!
And it’s the old title. That is, it’s Die Hard 4.0, which is infinitely preferable to the horrendous Live Free Or Die Hard. How do we know this? Well, the new trailer for Len Wiseman’s summer blockbuster went online today, and there it is at the end: Die Hard 4.0. Given that this trailer was an international teaser, there’s still a possibility that the US title will remain Live Free… but over here in Blighty, we get a title that actually makes sense, given the movie’s computer hacky plot. And how’s the trailer? Well, most Empireites seemed to greet it with cautious optimism, although one staff member ran out of the room screaming, “it’s not Die Hard! It’s not Die Hard!” following the bit where the Capitol Building is reduced to smithereens. See it here and decide for yourself, although even the URL would indicate that Live Free Or Die Hard isn't totally out of the picture...
It’s Hostel Part III! Kinda…
The success of Eli Roth’s Hostel has been a double-edged sword (or, in this case, a rusty axe), with all manner of ‘young US tourists getting hacked to bits in creepy foreign locales’ flicks ready to cash in. And DreamWorks have just hired a director for the latest Hostel-a-like. Carter B. Smith will call the screams on The Ruins, in which four young American tourists go to Cancun and get lost in the jungle, after a German tourist persuades them to help look for his missing brother. Empire will bet a relatively minor body part that a) the German bloke is up to no good, b) there is no brother, and c) torture and screaming and death will soon follow, and not necessarily in that order. But this might not be entirely without merit: the film is set up with Ben Stiller’s Red Hour, and Scott Smith – who wrote the screenplay for Sam Raimi’s A Simple Plan – is performing similar duties here.
Keri Russell Is Married
Yes, that’s right. Even though we last saw her face going all squiffy in M:I-3, it would seem that not only is Keri Russell alive and well, but she’s only gone and got herself hitched as well! The 30 year-old actress, next to be seen in the title role in Waitress, the last film directed by the late Adrienne Shelley, got married to long-term boyfriend Shane Deary on Valentine’s Day in New York. Ahhh, how romantic... |

| Live Free or Die Hard... | Is it me or does the website and trailer on the link still say "Live Free or Die Hard"?
The Casino Royale trailer didn't look like a Bond film at all and that was not only the best Bond in decades (you 'urd). Not only did it bring new ideas to a pretty stale character, it then dove tailed into an incredibly traditional Bond movie. Give 'em what they want but not how they expect it.
There isn't a film made that couldn't be improved by the addition of Bruce Willis as John McClane...&nbs More

I can only pray those redicolous stunts are the only ones in the movie!! More

The title change is a mistake though, come on Die hard 2: DIE HARDER, Die Hard WITH A VENGENCE ! Pure cheesey goodness, LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD is the perfect title. More
Posted by barnaby jones at 12:15 on 18 February 2007 | Report This Post | | | | | Rubbish FX | If you take the link from "Mikkel Drewsen" and pause the trailer near the end - at the point when the guy is jumping from the helicopter (just as the police car is hitting it) - you can see how 'un-finished' (or just how plain rubbish) the effects are. It seems that the post production's been done on a cheap video editing suite or something. Also, in the Capitol Building demolition, it seems that the building's either a miniature model or composed of some rubbish CGI. Unless they enhance/change More

Surely there isn't anyone truly relieved at a title change from the cheesy, inventive "Live Free Or Die Hard" to the accursed "4.0" a figure away from the ultimate in bland sequel titling, which is perhaps even worse. 4.0 is appropriate considering the plot? the .0 tag is an extremely old hat way of suggesting new tech. I seem to remember it getting ridiculed when originally anounced.
Then again it isn't worth getting excited about the title, the film has ver More

Posted by SirTiger at 12:10 on 17 February 2007 | Report This Post | | | | | 'Live free or die' is the most famous of the state mottos in America (its New Hampshire's); 'Live Free or Die Hard' makes perfect sense in the American context and incidentally, '4.0' is completely uninspired. More
Posted by jbar7406 at 04:09 on 17 February 2007 | Report This Post | | | | | Sigh, it's not Die Hard in this one, look at that trailer, blowing up a helicopter will show his position, the Die Hards worked with McClane worried from being caught, and rying to stealthy commit a plan, that never works completely, this looks like all action shit. I want good McClane, or i'm grabbing my pitchfork and hunting down Wiseman. More
Posted by Ethanial at 23:40 on 16 February 2007 | Report This Post | | | | | God, i hope they dont change the title. | Live Free Or Die Hard is even more cheesily awesome than all the other cheesily awesome titles in this fanchise. Die Hard 4.0 is some bland, bland shit. More

Posted by Bubba76 at 20:33 on 16 February 2007 | Report This Post | | | | | when you think about it, Die Hard itself is a pretty smelly title.
But Die Hard 4.0 is better than LFODH More
Posted by Hughezy at 18:42 on 16 February 2007 | Report This Post | | | | | Well, the trailer quite clearly stated the title as 'Live Free Or Die Hard' on the link provided. In fact, it said it twice just to make sure it was entirely clear that the film definitely isn't called Die Hard 4.0, in case any magazine websites somehow became confused. God forbid. Anyway, if nothing else at least LF0DH is different from the norm (even if it's rather odd) wheras DH4.0 is just blandness beyond compare- which, incidentally, is about as much as we can expect from the movie judging More
