Benicio Del Toro Is The Wolfman
With Mark Romanek directing

With TV to movie remakes reaching criticial mass, it seems that Hollywood's bean counters are now moving on the the Universal monsters of old, with the news that a remake of The Wolfman is coming.

Hugely talented and stylish music video director Mark Romanek, who made his feature debut with the creepy Robin Williams drama One Hour Photo, is to howl new life into the hairy beast. And he's chosen Benicio Del Toro as his half man/half throw rug. An excellent choice, if we may say. Se7en's Andrew Kevin Walker will write the script. A perfect team we think.

The update will surprisingly stick to the 1940s period setting of the original, with a man returning to England from the US after being bitten by a wolf and finds him having to shave far more often and in far more places.

the new lon chaney
looking forward to the new version of the wolfman with benito del toro. he has the right look for the part. he is also a fine actor so the movie should have a better chance of becoming a modern classic. even though i love the old movie version with lon chaney who gave a exellent performance as lawrence talbot giving the charecter just the right ammount of pathos without going over the top. The make-up exellent too for its time. Thank got he didnt turn into a wolf alltogether and star running aro More

RE: Benicio Del Toro Is The Wolfman
s, certainly, the make-up, where are the claws, the hair, the pointed ears and the canine tooths. I dont think Benicio looks like a were wolf XDDDD But he´s just, indeed, the perfect choice for The Wolfman, even better than being Ernesto Guevara. His blue eyes are not accurated to Ernesto appearance. But well, just got to see the movies. More

Feature debut with 'One Hour Photo'? What about Static, a lost classic starring Keith Gordon? Hopefully this new film will be a massive hit and they'll give Static a long-overdue release on DVD. More

That's probably the least surprising yet best casting ever! At least they won't have to spend much money on make-up. More
