Romero Pens Diary Of The Dead
A new zombie pic
Source: Variety

Romero Pens Diary Of The Dead
That sound you hear is a pack of zombies raising a glass (of brains) to toast the return of their master.

Yes, George A. Romero is putting his next planned film – an adaptation of Japanese horror film Solitary Isle – firmly on hold to dive back into the world of flesh-craving undead bastards.

And if the synopsis is to be believed, he’s taking a gentle sideswipe at the genre in the process. George Romero’s Diary Of The Dead will revolve around a bunch of student filmmakers heading into the woods to shoot a bloody horror. But they get more gore than they bargained for when they stumble on a group of zombies.

It’s not clear whether this latest trip to Zombietopia will fit into the canon of his other films the way Land Of The Dead did - and it begs the question of what happened to the planned sequel, but still: zombies! Romero cranks his cameras in Toronto in October.

RE: Romero Pens Diary Of The Dead
odd one really. Doesn't sound like it's gonna be a sequel or on going part of the saga, so why do it? Unless it's the next phase of the zombie evolution so to speak, what is the point. Romero doesn't need to do this. I agree it sounds like a Blair Witch remake through and through. Come on George, give us what we really want. ... Read More

eh?!
i really hope this is going to tie in with the zombie apocalypse universe he's set up in night/dawn/cit/land of the dead! otherwise this might just turn into the blair witch with zombies!!!!!!!!!!! i want to see the continued adventures of the survivors from land more than anything. But if this does tie in with his recent universe then im all for it! maybe it could be set between nght and dawn, maybe the rumour of the zombies attacking the house in night could be the reason they go too the fo... Read More

Dead Sequel??
This does sound great, but if he's gonna make another zombie flick then why not just make the follow up to the dead series like he had originally said. Like so many others I waited and waited for the follow up to Day of the Dead I just hope he doesn't make us wait as long this time!! ... Read More
