Star Wars... Shortened!
All six films in twenty minutes...

09 August 2006  |  Written by

Ever watched all six movies in a row? Even for the most fervent of Star Wars devotees, one 794 minute session of galactic combat, epoch-defining characters, a green guy shooting first and something about the trade federation, can prove a colossal undertaking. Now, thanks to The Reduced Shakespeare Company’s Adam Long, you can watch all your favourite scenes in the space of twenty minutes. Star Wars…Shortened!  will be the world's only fully authorised, comedic performance of all six films. "This is my boyhood dream” says Long. “In the space of twenty minutes I'm going to be Jabba the Hutt, Jar Jar Binks, Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker".

Star Wars…Shortened! will be performed exclusively at London’s Criterion Theatre on August 17. The comedy will be broadcast on Sky Movies ahead of their Star Wars saga screenings which begin on Saturday August 26, culminating in the UK television premiere of Star Wars – Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith on September 30.

For a chance to win tickets to see Star Wars…Shortened! performed live, head over to our competitions page.

RE: Brilliant!
Yeah, I saw the original Shakespeare: Abridged show, one of the best nights out ever, and have read elsewhere that the Star Wars performance was genius! ... More

RE: Brilliant!
I went to see their "HollyWood" production this summer which was great fun and had audience participation at the end.You had to know your film quotes to get all of it though,I ended up suffering from lag laughter, there was so much put into the script. The guys are a huge fan of Starwars and their shows are peppered with gags about it."The Reduced" are becoming a bit of a franchise now. I shouldn't worry about getting it into twenty minutes, they can do the entire pe More

RE: Brilliant!
it's up... or at least 1 minute of it is - www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh72PglcLq8p; I've heard that this won't be a one off - and that Sky/Reduced Shakespeare are in discussion with LucasFilm about doing it as their next show - anyone else heard this? More

Brilliant!
I went to see this tonight (thanks for the competition tickets guys!). It was brilliant. Difficult to write a review, given the brevity of the performance and the familiarity of the subject matter. Pissed myself laughing though. It'll also be available for viewing on the Sky Movies website soon, so do yourself a favour and go see it! More

RE: 794 minutes down to 20 minutes....and they still have room for Jar Jar Binks?!
How are they gonna fit everything from star wars in it within just 20 mins running time of their show??? More

794 minutes down to 20 minutes....and they still have room for Jar Jar Binks?!
I've seen some of their other shows though, and my bet is they'll add a bit of what Lucas really is terrible with - decent humour. More
