I always thought Pierece Brosnan was the ideal actor to play Lord Asriel. Nicole Kidman's a fine choice as Mrs Coulter. The voice of Iorek? It's got to be Michael Clark Duncan. More

Im not so thrilled about the casting choices so far, with the exception of eva green. Good choice.
Paul Bettany as Asriel, what the fuck! it should be played by someone older like Ralph Fiennes or even Harrison Ford.
Catherine Zeta-Jones would have been perfect in the role of Mrs Coulter, i always imagined the character looking like her in the book. As for the voice of Byrinson, it should be Robby benson who voiced 'The Beast' in Disney's classic.

Safaa's right.... IMDB lists Ian McShane as the voice of Iorek. I just can't get the imagine a mulleted Lovejoy as a battle armoured bear!!. However whatever the casting the removal of the religious aspects of the storyline leaves the entire project impotent. Seriously, whats the point.... Man vs God. What will they have to replace it.... Wow,these guys are getting a great cast.I'm in love with Eva Green,she's absolutely gorgeous and very talented.
I think Paul Bettany is a great actor but I think they should find someone more rugged,you know,like Eric Bana,Hugh Jackman,Russel Crowe,Guy Pearce(I know,but hey Oz is the place that defines rugged)or even Gary Oldman(he can do anything,even if he's a litlle older than the original character) More

Eva Green will be wonderful as Serafina. I wonder if they'll keep the gipsies in the story. If I well recall, Serafina was in love with a gipsy that is quite old by the time Lyra's adventure begins.
As for Iorek's voice, I'm not sure but I read somewhere that Ian McShane would lend his voice to the character.
As for Kidman, ah well, I suppose she might make it as Mrs. Coulter, but I can't see any strong chemistry between her and Paul Bettany (still in talks). Paul Bettany is a great act More
