Spielberg Spills On Indy IV And More
Fresh word on the future

Still wondering if we’re going to see Indiana Jones IV? Concerned with who’ll direct Jurassic Park IV? And just what is going on with that new sci-fi film based on wormhole speculation? Wonder no more - fan site SpielbergFilms.com caught up with the man himself and tried to force a few answers out of him.

As for Indiana Jones IV, it seems to be a case of endless tinkering: “George (Lucas) and I have been promising it for a lot of years now, but I’m making every attempt to keep my promise. I just want to make sure that the fan base is given the best Indiana Jones anybody could possibly make, and until I can assure myself that at least I’m trying to make the best Indiana Jones film of all time, the development will continue. The process of developing the script will continue, and it continues right now with David Koepp writing the script.” And when he puts it like that, you almost feel guilty to press him for a start date.

Next, he tackled Jurassic Park IV, specifically announcing the fact that director of the third instalment, Joe Johnston, would take the reigns for the fourth and that he wasn’t disappointed with Johnston’s last Jurassic job: “ I don’t feel that way at all! I think the film is witty and clever, and I think Joe did an amazing job putting together those battles. And I think those battles Joe put together… That scene where the Spinosaurus attacks the airplane and the passengers inside the airplane was every bit as good as I thought the main road attack in Jurassic Park was. So I’m a huge fan of Joe’s, and he’s the right guy to do the fourth one.”

Finally, there’s the small matter of another future project, one that has only just entered the world of rumour and speculation, not to mention development. “It’s called Interstellar. That’s the name. It’s a detailed treatment by Dr. Kip Thorne, and I’m working with Lynda Obst, who’s the producer, and Kip on this project.” Spielberg dismisses the idea that it’ll be his 2001, and explains that he hasn’t got close to setting a tone yet. “I don’t want to categorize it yet, ‘cause I’m just at the beginning of the process. But I don’t see it as 2001.”

L: zombiemaster If they make a indy four which year would it be set 004 and Indy will be running around ASDA listening to Busted on his iPod. They will re-group to record the main song. John Williams is pissed and punches Spielberg right in the face. More

In Developement?
"I've got loads of fucking classic films in "development". Does that get me any closer to actually making them, let alone releasing them?" -- Yes, of course it does. How can you make a film without developing it? I liked Ware of the Worlds, but he made it in 10 months and it showed in the script. Eoin More

Spielberg is full of shit.
I've got loads of fucking classic films in "development". Does that get me any closer to actually making them, let alone releasing them? The difference between me and him? I'm just bored and typing any old shit and he's Steven Spielberg. So actually this is very exciting. I'd even go as far as to draw an anology with Steven Spielberg and Woody Allen. The prolofic work-rate at which both film makers churn out movies seems to seriously hinder the development of the story being told. War of the Wo More

That's really wonderful! HE IS GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!! HE IS THE GOD! More
