Never let it be said that Warners wasn’t hunting down the next possible Harry Potter. The latest likely franchise is eco-friendly sci-fi adventure book series Caretaker Trilogy.
The first novel – Firestorm – will see a seemingly normal teenager caught up in a massive battle being fought to save the world both now and a thousand years in the future.
Keeping its eye on the franchise prize, Warners has locked up the rights to option the follow-up books Whirlwind, which focuses on the rainforests and Timelock, with its global warming messages. Firestorm author David Klass might also be the man to write the script – he’s responsible for the likes of Kiss The Girls and Walking Tall. There’s no director attached yet. |
