Rocky Balboa Trailer Goes Live
The promo for his new film

11 July 2006  |  Written by   |  Source: Yahoo Movies

submit to reddit

“The greatest underdog story ever told is back for one final round…” So the gravel-voiced trailer man tells us in the new promo for Rocky Balboa. Given the evidence of this long-in-the-developing sixth instalment in Rocky’s story, we wouldn’t be so quick to add that “final” bit.

But then, given the way Sylvester Stallone looks in the footage, we’re guessing they’ll need a fully functional robot body to get him back in the ring next time. And that would be cheating.

Meanwhile, sit back and enjoy the trailer, which follows Rocky considering taking on the new young champ after a TV sports show simulation shows he has a shot and beating the reigning boxer. Catch it here.

ACE!!!!!!
i can't believe it. i was grinning from ear to ear. i'm really looking forward to this film. no joke! i'm one of the few who really enjoyed rocky 5. it wrapped everything up nicely. i was sceptical of a further fight, i saw it as cashing in on his franchise. the trailer for rocky balboa was great, the calcium deposits line was a nice touch. i'll be in the audience come opening night and hope to smile all the way home. " rocky, rocky, rocky " More

Rocky's Final Chapter!!
I have to be honest, when Rocky V came out i was a little bit sad, although i enjoyed it i did think it was the weakest off all the Movies, and when i found out Rocky VI (Rocky Balboa) was being made i thght "Oh Know, leave it alone..." BUT, having just seen the Trailer, and hearing that Famous ROCKY MUSIC again, i'm totally looking forward to watching it, the Music gave me the usual 'Electric Shock' and made my hair on my neck stand up!!! I can't wait, this will be the final chapter More

I don't understand how Empire can be so harsh on Stallones body. For a guy of 60 he looks amazing and fitter than 99.9% of men his age. I for one shall be there opening weekend. More

RE: IT IS LIKE HITTING STEEL
I gotta join the masses and say I'm looking forward to this, I remeber watching my first ever real boxing match and thinking "wow, this is crap compared to Rocky" Yes the Rocky films were far fetched, cheesy and in some cases carried some very cheeky political messages..... ....but! they were fantastic entertainment, great escapism and most of all, the story of street bum making it good, its old fasioned hollywood story telling at work and man has it sorely been missed in these days o More

STOP FILMING!!!
Get Apollo Creed, that Russian Guy from Rocky 4, Bruce Campbell and Ozzie Davis and make a sequel to 'Bubba Ho Tep' Rocky, Apollo and Russian Guy are the newest interns to the care home where Elvis and JFK reside. They decide they're 'Not Gonna Take It Anymore', igniting old rivalries and stage a boxing match to decide who is the HeavyWeight Champion of the World. But then Draclua turns up and throws a spanner in the works. It's up to Elvis and JFK to save the day again..... More

Count Me In!
We must gives this film a chance. The Rocky films are loved by so many people and the series needs to end on a high following the disappointingly flat Rocky V. This one seems to be returning to the original film's gritty optimism. More

Well, count me in as a little bit excited. I'm with all those that proudly love the b] films for what they are and can't help but get goosepimply-type feelings while watching this trailer. Seeing Rocky, Uncle Paulie and Duke all back is great. The thing sequel has going for it that so many don't these days is characters that we love to be in the company of. The lack of Adrian is a litle sad though. But apart form that.... Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!f you're not excited by this ret More

Can't wait to see it. Like many people, I grew up watching these movies.  But how the hell did he get his boxing license back?  The guy had brain damage which, last time I heard, has no cure. Or will it turn out that Rocky 5 was all a bad dream.  It certainly seemed like it.      More

RE: Greatest Saga Ever?
L: chadbeserk One thing (of the many things) that I love about the Rocky series is that when you mention it, you will get one of two looks from the person you are talking to. Either they roll their eyes and shake their head or their eyes light up and a wide smile creeps across their face. And in their head you can hear the opening riff of "The Eye Of The Tiger" vibrating inside. To me, the films are just a joy to watch. Unadulterated fun, excitement and escapism. got no beef with it
looking at the trailer it makes for a good night out at the cinema, and when its released on dvd, should make for a marathon beyond explanation. Rocky as a whole is an Icon, so is Rambo, and hey if Sly wants to make the film (even for a quick buck or to actually bring the character back) then so be it, we cant stop him, if you dont like dont watch it i say. OK, it's official..
i'm bloody excited about this movie. I thought the original Rocky was magical, inspirational and hugely uplifting. Stallone was Rocky, he was a bum with nothing. That made the film and Stallones performance all the more affecting. If they can recapture just a little bit of the magic in that movie, then this will be a success. In my opinion. More
