Memphis Hell
Crime drama The Rabbit Factory

Lionsgate has nabbed the rights to Larry Brown’s novel The Rabbit Factory. Set in Memphis, the book follows interconnected storylines that wind around a world of violence and poverty.

Director Vondie Curtis-Hall, who last unleashed Glitter on us (but will hopefully make amends with this summer’s Tyrese-starring crime drama Waist Deep), has been hired to direct. Sadly, Brown won’t get to see his book turned into a film, as he died in 2004, a year after it hit the shelves.

"Curtis-Hall is the dream director for this movie," producer Andrew Weiner told The Hollywood Reporter. "With Lionsgate, we have a terrific partner who shares our conviction that Larry Brown's masterful novel will make for a great movie."
