DreamWorks drama Things We Lost In The Fire already has a director, in the form of Open Hearts' Susanne Bier. Now it’s also scooping up a starry cast.

Benicio Del Toro has come aboard the film and Halle Berry is in final negotiations to join as a woman whose hubby suddenly keels over dead. Against her better judgement, she invites his troubled best friend (Del Toro) to stay with the family. Cue redemption and lessons in managing grief as his quest to improve his life impacts her kids’ reaction to death.

With a script by Allen Loeb, Bier plans to call the shots starting in June.

This'll be good. Del Toro could shit in a bag, light it on fire & record it on a 3G phone, it would be fucking class. Belisimo Benicio More
