Universal has engaged Lucy Liu as its bride.
She’ll star in Beautiful Asian Brides, with Steven Gary Banks and Claudia Grazioso (who last wrote Are We There Yet?) providing the script.
Brides follows a man who is wrongly accused of murder, and goes undercover as a mail-order bride to prove his innocence. Apparently. The idea was created by Les Firestein and PJ Pesce and began life at Jersey Films, but was left homeless when that company broke up. Now Ron Howard’s bestest pal and producing partner Brian Grazer has saved it from development oblivion.
