Wherefore Art Thou, Gnomeo?
Developing Disney 'toon canned

If you were on tenterhooks waiting for Disney’s gnome-heavy take on Romeo And Juliet – Gnomeo & Juliet – it’s time to stop waiting. Because it’s been cancelled.

The word from Disney is that the film, which was to have featured exclusive new songs by Elton John and was at one point due to star Ewan McGregor, is now officially off its schedule. No reason has been given for the cancellation, though current thinking is that Pixar’s John Lasseter had the film shut down because of quality concerns. The message for Disney: Must Try Harder.

HEY-patent pending!
i'm in the middle one editing a film based on Romeo....starring ducks! it's intercut with imagery from silent films amnd it's in black and white with no audio track, just captions. so i did something somewhat similar first. it's called Carnard and Antidae More

Grammar people, grammar!
Empire is aware, I assume, that "wherefore art thou" means "why are you" and not "where are you" and that there should be no comma in the title of this article? As far as the film goes, it could have been funny, but sounded ever so slightly lame, so maybe it's best it's been canned. More
