Joss On Serenity, Spike And More Exclusive: His Whedonness on what’s next
After making one of our favourite films of last year, Serenity, when Joss Whedon came to town recently we took the opportunity to ask him about his upcoming plans for the Buffyverse and his other creations.
First of all, can we hope for more Serenity? “You know, we didn’t exactly set the box office aflame,” admitted Whedon. “The DVD is doing quite well. Nobody’s said anything. I don’t rule it out, I’d love to do it, but I’m focusing on whatever’s next, as are my actors. If anybody ever calls for us to come back together, that would be a great joy, but the fact that we got to make this film is, in itself, a bit of a miracle, so you don’t ask for another one for a while.”
So what could he tell us about Goners and Wonder Woman? “Not a whole lot. I am still writing Wonder Woman. It is very awesome but incredibly unfinished, but I should be finishing that in a little while and then I’ll have a better idea of which film is actually going into production. But I can tell you that the film will be about introducing you to Wonder Woman. She'll be wearing the outfit and there will be the bracelets, the golden lasso and Greek gods. She comes from a civilisation where she's rather perfect, so she's the opposite to Buffy in many ways, but she's going through an adolescent rite of passage because she's new to the world.”
And is there any life in the Buffyverse? “We are trying to put together a Spike movie – I don’t know if it’s financially feasible. That’s what I’ve been working towards for the past several months, and I should know fairly soon whether or not something’s going to happen with that.”

YES PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, MAKE ANOTHER FIREFLY SERIES OR SERENITY 2!! And a Spike movie, if he ties up everything in that and answers all our questions from the end of Buffy and Angel (Buffy/Angel? I really hope that he continues with Firefly I saw Serenity at the cinema and have it now on dvd. My housemate lent me firefly and i watched it over a weekend I do not know why they didnt continue it in America but I agree with the person who said they should change from FOX there must be annother network who would be willing to buy into it like the WB? ... Yeah, I wouldn't ignore a Spike movie if it came out, but I can't imagine why he would want to go back and rake up all the other characters. He needs to move on from Buffy, and with Wonder Woman and Goners I think he will become an A-list director. He knows what he's doing. ... Read More

Or at least it will be if Joss Whedon doesn't get to direct another Serenity/Firefly movie or even another series. After having watched Serenity, we bought Firefly on DVD and watched the whole series over 2 days. It wasn't enough. NEED MORE!!!! PLEEEEEEEASE. ... Read More
