| 11 January 2006 | Julia Roberts Going To War? Star set to re-team with Mike Nichols |
|
Mike Nichols and Julia Roberts are making battle plans.
The Closer director is negotiating to direct Charlie Wilson’s War for Universal, with the former film's leading lady considering leaving the kids with the nanny to star.
Based on TV producer George Crile’s non-fiction book, War focuses on a charismatic Texan congressman who manipulated his government into helping arm Afghanistan’s rebels against the Russians in the Eighties. Those rebels subsequently went on to become the Taliban.
Tom Hanks has already signed on to produce and star as Wilson and the script’s been written by a well-known name – West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin. |
