He might not look like a big threat in this image, but Thomas Haden Church definitely looks the part as Spider-Man 3 bad guy Flint Marko.
Okay, time for a spoiler warning: if you really, truly don’t want to know which villain Church is playing (and you’re one of the few people who didn’t get spoiled by Kirsten Dunst’s announcement), don’t read any further.
Church is playing The Sandman, who after exposure to radiation finds that his body can transform into a sand-like substance, which gives him incredible abilities and strength. It’s not yet known if Sam Raimi will keep the radiation back-story or if he and his writers will devise some updated way for Marko to become Sandman.
