| 05 October 2005 | From One Ring To Another Jackson takes on Halo adaptation |
|
| Lord of the Rings legends Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh have just made a million anxious gamers happy and signed on as executive producers for the adaptation of hit Xbox computer game, Halo.
The film will be shot entirely in New Zealand, with production scheduled to begin in early 2007. Sadly, Jackson won't be directing the film but he will take a certain amount of creative control and Weta Workshop and Weta Digital will handle all effects and post production.
Halo concerns the exploits of genetically engineered supersoldier, The Master Chief, during Earth's war with a coalition of alien species called The Covenant. At the climax of this interstellar war, The Master Chief's ship crashes onto Halo, an alien world constructed in a ring configuration that encircles a sun.
The Beach scribe, Alex Garland, is currently polishing the script. |
