Mr Get Me Out Of Here Right Now
And a Princess Diaries 2 trailer

28 May 2004  |  Written by

Two romantic developments today – and unfortunately no, neither was Jake Gyllenhaal calling the office to declare undying love after we met him the other night. First up is a new trailer for The Princess Diaries 2: A Royal Engagement, in which our unexpectedly regal heroine, now 21, finds that she must marry within a month or forfeit her family's right to the throne.

Despite some occasionally dodgy image quality, this looks like it will be a hit with fans of the original – Anne Hathaway is as charmingly inept as ever and she has able support from Julie Andrews who indulges in an improbable bit of indoor extreme sports. There's also an amusing moose joke, but all in all this looks like one for teenyboppers and fans of Prince William only. Click here for a look.

Meanwhile, Paramount has bought the rights to How to Tell He's Not The One In Ten Days from the authors of How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days, Michele Alexander and Jeannie Long. The original was filmed with Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey last year, with Kate playing a journalist determined to convince new boyfriend to dump her by an increasingly cringe-inducing variety of methods.

This new book features stick figures illustrating each day's warning signs in a comical guidebook to show when he's "Mr Right" and when he's "Mr. Get Me Out of Here Right Now" – something that might come in handy for Princess Mia. We're guessing that some considerable adaptation is going to be necessary before the book reaches the screen – a film based entirely on stick figures never having been big box office.
