Singer Coming Back For More X-Men? Director admits talks with Fox Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Bryan Singer has been linked with a return to the X-Men franchise for some time – with reports linking him to the director’s chair on the youth-centric spin-off, First Class, and possibly even the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. But today, during a talk at the Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea, the man who launched the X-franchise confirmed that he had held talks with Fox about coming back.
"I'm still looking to possibly returning to the X-Men franchise. I've been talking to Fox about it," said Singer, basically just repeating what we said in our opening paragraph. “I love Hugh Jackman. I love the cast.”
Now that was pretty much all he would say (although you can click here for more of his thoughts about the state of Hollywood) but the reference to Jackman and the rest of the cast is significant. With producer Lauren Shuler Donner recently saying that an X-Men 4 was a distinct possibility, could Singer be angling for a return to the X-Men franchise proper? After all, he might feel that he has unfinished business, after leaving the series to direct Superman Returns, which led directly to Brett Ratner’s inferior X-Men: The Last Stand. Perhaps Singer also feels that he has some atoning to do.
But it’s all early days, and pie-in-the-sky stuff at this stage. If Singer were to return for some more mutant mayhem, though, what would you have him do? Answers below.
You could easily undo the toilet that was X3 by pulling a trek like switcheroo with the time lines...
x4 is set in the future, with apocolypse running amok and causing all sorts of problems... Bishop goes back and prevents X3 Phoenix from killing Professer X, thereby skewing the timelines and meaning X3 never happened as it was shown by ratner.... X4 sets properly does phoenix saga with bishop as a supporting cast member and sets up x5 as horseman of the apocolypse.. thereby allwoing us to se... Read More
The studio screwed the Dark Phoenix Saga unfortunately not Ratner but we can still blame him for Rush Hour.
Anyone else remember when Wolverine's healing factor from the Claremont stuff when he got crucified and beaten half to death by the Reavers? Seems a bit weak in comparison with the skin being stripped from his bones and feeling your eyes grow back. ... Read More

well the way I see it, X3 could actually be fixed with a follow up to tie things up and sort things out... maybe have Phoenix's 'disintegrating' not having killed Prof X and Cyclops etc.. but sent them to the Savage Lands.. that'd a/ fix that big issue and b/ it'd be the savage lands. it'd be cool. add in a secondary plotline about Rogue getting her full powers (maybe being kidnapped from the mutant cure queue).
though the "lets pretend X3 didnt happen" angle would work jus... Read More

I agree with the idea of ignoring xmen 3 pretend it never happened and redo the pheonix saga like it should have been done. However part of me would like to see Apocalypse make an appearance or possibly Mr Sinister and please please can we have Gambit in this one and Rogue like she should be super strength and flying etc... ... ........as long as we're talking about a proper X Men film here people. Difficult to see where they could take the saga now that half the original characters/cast are either dead, too old or not coming back.....and I don't wanna see no watered down teen X Men rubbish either...........Wolverine in Japan... now that would be a good place to start.......R - rated please!!!
