Jessica Biel Joins The A-Team
And Sharlto Copley is Murdoch
Source: Variety

Jessica Biel Joins The A-Team

It's taken years to get to this point, but it looks like we finally have a full line-up for The A-Team. Joining Liam Neeson's Hannibal, Bradley Cooper's Face and "Rampage" Jackson's BA Baracus will be the previously rumoured Sharlto Copley (he of District 9 fame) and the very lovely Jessica Biel.

As was practically obligatory in the show, the female role will be an ex-girlfriend of Templeton "Faceman" Peck's. What's less traditional is that Variety also appears to say that Biel's role doubles up as the general who's pursuing the team (who were, of course, convicted of a crime they didn't commit) which seems slightly unlikely to us. A colonel, maybe, but surely she's considerably too young to be a general if this is a more serious take on the series? Still, in an industry that once cast Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist (in hotpants!) perhaps we should just be grateful that Biel is actually pretty kick-ass.

Skip Woods wrote the script and Joe Carnahan is directing for producer Ridley Scott. Shooting starts this autumn for release here on July 30, 2010.

What a miserable lot!
The A Team was never a great show, it passed the time away when I was kid but bloody hell guys, stop being so bloody pessimistic, every actor commited to this so far is better then the originals ( ok mr peck was a great actor but he did take the piss as Hannibal) In an age of truely horrible remakes, lets give this a try! ... Read More

I hate it when a plan doesn't come together!
What's the point in remaking shows from the 70's and 80's? It's terribly done 9 times out of ten, and those who make them have a huge conundrum to face, do you make it gritty and modern to appeal to a new audience at the risk of seriously pissing off the fans who idolise the characters, or do you make it camp and cheesey pissing off everybody? And Liam Neeson as Hannibal?! ... Read More

I agree with Ninob. remakes of 80s television shows are doomed anyway but by casting the no-talented Biel, it just put the final nail in the coffin. ... Read More

RE: Wikus, man!
L: deanlaccohee Great casting for Murdoch - Copley was superb in District 9. I agree with dravis747 about Ving Rhames as BA - Clooney orbson for Hannibalad Pitt for Face. As for Jessica Biel, I'd happily sit and watch her reading out the phone book... f that happened he'd insist they write it that they were all imprisoned by the Jews ... Read More
