More Cast For John Carter Of Mars

Samantha Morton, Dominic West and Polly Walker have all joined the cast of Disney's John Carter of Mars, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe are already on board the Edgar Rice Burroughs sci-fi epic, directed by Wall-E's Andrew Stanton.

Morton will be playing Willem Dafoe's daughter Sola; a big softie in a race of fighters. West (300, Punisher: War Zone, The Wire) will play the villainous Sab Than of the Zodangans, who believes he ought to be ruling Mars. And Walker, who just finished work on Clash of the Titans and is clearly enjoying a belated boom of fantasy roles, is Sarkoja, an aggressive Thark. In the books, the Tharks are green and have four arms. Phwoar.

Shooting is planned to start early next year in Utah.

RE: More Cast For John Carter Of Mars
I've heard that a lot of stuff from the books has been borrowed and used in a lot of other sci-fi films, so i'm worried that the film itself may end up looking very cliched, even though it was the first piece of fiction to establish said cliches. ... Read More
