See Gyllenhaal in action in new posters

Exclusive: Prince of Persia Pictures

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is one of next year's big summer movies, so a few new posters showing the lovely Jake Gyllenhaal and the gorgeous Gemma Arterton are just the thing to bring a touch of sunshine to this otherwise cloudy day.

Based on the massively popular series of videogames, the story sees Gyllenhaal as a 'rogue prince' Dastan and Gemma Arterton as 'mysterious princess' Tamina, who reluctantly team up to safeguard an ancient dagger that could release the Sands of Time, allowing its possessor to reverse time and rule the world.

Also starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina, directed by Mike Newell, and out on May 28, 2010, you'll need to set expectations to "epic" for this one.

Check out the September issue of Empire for more exclusive pictures, and a report from the set of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Relax
It should be good actually. Pirates of the Caribbean was good and this is being touted as the next "that". The crew sound good, the actors are not bad and it should be a fun magical fantasy adventure. The writer from the game is on it, and the story is an "alternative" one to the Sands of Time on which its based. But what the hell is up with the font on the posters? No effort to make it "arabesque" at all. ... Read More
