| Sony is playing musical chairs with two of its big 2010 comedies. Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet, starring Seth Rogen and Stephen Chow as a crime-fighting duo, is so high near the top of our must-see list that it’s not even funny (the movie itself, hopefully, will be) – but we’ll have to wait an extra two weeks to see it, as it’s moved from June 25 to July 9. But Sony has moved quickly to fill the vacuum left by Rogen’s action comedy, by moving Grown Ups, otherwise known as the Happy Madison reunion movie, into that date from its original March 12 berth. Clearly, Sony is very confident about the commercial appeal of the movie, which teams Sandler with his old chums Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Kevin James as old high school buddies enjoying a reunion. That’s high on our must-see list, too, but for entirely different reasons. The change of release date puts Grown Ups in line for a dust-up with the third Twilight film, Twilight: The Eclipse. Somehow we suspect the audiences for the two movies won’t cross over that much – you don’t tend to hear a lot of high-pitched shrieking, sobbing and general insanity at a Rob Schneider movie. Unless our Damo’s in the audience, of course.
