Blood: The Last Vampire Exclusive Clip Schoogirl slaying bloodsucking nasties
Empire has this exclusive kick-ass clip of Chris Nahon's Blood: The Last Vampire.
Gianna Jun plays Saya, who on the surface looks like an innocent sixteen year old girl, but is actually a centuries old part-vampire and covert Government Agent, entrusted with battling the ghouls beseiging Japan.
In this clip, we see Saya using her samurai sword and fierce hammer weilding skills to protect her new friend Alice against the foul fiends surrounding them. It seems that girl power isn't quite dead after all.
quite honestly one of the worst films i've ever seen! literally NO plot as far- the japanese girl was running about with an american girl the whole film, but, unless i really missed something, we never find out why the american is important. At the end, the "most evil demon ever" or some such rot, turns out to be -SPOILER- the protagonist's mum, but as we'd only seen the baddie in about 2 very short scenes before this, combined with the fact that the protagonist was completely devoid o... I saw this last night and was quite surprised at what I got. I thought it was action-packed and engaging and I thought the rooftop scene was quite spectacular. Could've done without the British soapstars cheesey cameos from the likes of Ted Platt and Archie Mitchell, which I found highly amusing, and the ending felt a bit rushed and confusing. But all in all there's alot of fun to be had here. A solid 3 from me. ... Read More
Cinematically, metaphorically and literally. Not sure what went wrong with this film - but I saw it last night and it is the most appalling load of old rubbish imaginable...
Dodgy script, dodgy acting, lousy looking SFX. The director fell into the usual trap while filming it - too many quick cuts and flash editing rather than just plonking the camera down and letting the actors get on with the relevant chopsockiness. Ryuhei Katamura's "Azumi " is ten times better than this film ....he... Read More

I saw the trailer a couple of times now and I might give it a try. I have seen the anime and I was not so impressed, but the movie seems to be more based on the OVA Blood than the series. It is also good to see that there is an female "action-hero" that is not over - sexualised. I like a good "kick ass" movie and the effects look alright. I am still hoping to see a BRILLIANT live action movie that is based on an anime or a manga or has these influences. I have the feeling th... Read More
