Classic Films Returning To Big Screen

Good news for film fans: some of our favourites are set to be re-released in digital cinemas this year, with Spartacus, The Blues Brothers, Scarface, The Thing and Animal House all headed back to the big screen. You can see the trailer for the lot below.

The films are due out over the next few months. Kirk Douglas's none-more-epic turn in Spartacus leads the pack on June 9, followed by the musical stylings of The Blues Brothers on July 28. Al Pacino will ask us all to say hallo to his leeetle friend in Scarface on August 25, before Kurt Russell tangles with alien life in The Thing on September 15. Animal House finishes things off on November 2.

How could they miss it out??
All these movies have one thing in common - They were all distributed by Universal Studios. So why are they not re-releasing the best film they ever made? JAWS I saw it again a few years ago at Cineworld in Newport and the print they showed was in dire condition, in fact it broke at one point. But it needs to be seen on the big screen. A wasted opportunity, and as good as it is, I really don't see Animal House being as big a crowd puller. ... Read More

Batman, folks
The classic film, Batman '89 is celebrating its 20th Anniversary next month and should definitely be back in enough theatres as celebration for the millions of fans out there. I know of several theatres in various states showing it around the 23rd of next month, marking its release date 20 years ago. It should definitely be in more though. This is one of the best treats you can see on the big screen. ... Read More
