First Look At The Goon Concept Art

David Fincher has been busy boy of late - putting together a nifty little computer animated film based on the Eric Powell comic book The Goon - and surprise surprise, it looks good.

Fincher's project has been a bit of a dark horse from Dark Horse - with no one knowing whether The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button helmer is actually directing or merely producing the feature which is being animated by Blur Studios - the guys who are also behind the upcoming Heavy Metal movie.

The Goon - not to be confused with The Goonies - was first seen in 1999 and follows a big scary brawler who acts as a henchman and "primary enforcer" for a mob boss, who along with sidekick Franky gets tangled up with evil zombie gangs.

Looks and sounds pretty sweet - hope they manage to keep the "drawn" look of the concept art, so it doesn't look too CGI. Have to try and find a copy of the comic book, I think! ... Read More

Me likey
No idea on what The Goon is all about, other than what Empire says above, but this looks pretty sweet. Fincher is one of my favourite directers working today, and I'll happily watch anything he has his creative fingers in, so to speak ... Read More
